Baby Bath Time

I thought it was necessary to add these couple of photos before bedtime....

Landon took a bath because he is stinky and sick, this is his first "big boy" bath without his tiny tub.

Happy for a warm bath...
And it begins..... Landon found his weewee in the tub the last couple of times so now he can't play with his toys in there anymore, just that.  And if he takes his hand off of it for a second, it goes right back on, yes Landon it is still there!!!

Is anybody watching me?

Jared thinks this photo is the best...... it explains how he feels about the weewee and it's two best friends.

Iowa Deer Classic

As previously mentioned Jared and Landon went to the Iowa Deer Classic in Des Moines today.  Jared goes every year and threatens to buy some ridiculous junk and never ends up doing it.  Except the year him and his brother bought the knock off "sham-wows"..... They didn't work and they were each out $10!!

Landon visited Lee and Tiffany's bus, they are Iowa hunters that have their own show that Jared makes me watch on occasion.

Yes he is awake, but barely!!
Landon fell asleep during all the festivities with his hand in the cookie jar..... literally stuck in his little treat bowl.  What a cutie!! :)

Nothing purchased this year, just a beer.
Landon has been sick for a week now,  just a cold but it was pretty bad towards the end of last week.  He was coughing all night and waking up with boogers all over his face and hair, and his eyes were crusted shut.  Poor fella :(  I took him to the doctor and there wasn't anything we could do for him.  He has been sleeping all the time trying to get rid of it.  Last night he slept for 12 hours straight!!! Tonight he wanted to go to bed at 6:30 but we kept him up till almost 8:00 so that he won't wake up to early.

PINTEREST WEEKEND!!

The title says it all, very exciting for me because I literally got a whole day of crafting because the boys went to the Deer Classic which allowed me to have some time to myself!!

I have been wanting to make a quilt for the past week now, no real reason I just know I can so I want to.  The scrap fabric bin at Hancock Fabrics only had pink materials so this quilt will go to some lucky little lady some day.

The next little number is from pinterest and of course I didn't follow the directions very well at all, just got the general idea and did whatever I wanted to..... This little pillow case dress is for Miss Evie, she will have a very happy little first birthday

If you can not tell already, I'm obsessed with making baby things, and I'm really into sewing right now.... My next project was for Landon's cousin Holdyn, he was born just a few weeks ago and I'm awaiting his baby shower so I can go see him.  Not sure if I can wait that long though.

Taggie Blanket
Time to make something for Landon!!  I found this awesome fabric at Hankock Fabrics it is sooooo soft.  It was in with the fleece but it's a lot softer.  It was around $9.00 a yard and I got almost 1 1/2 yards.  Then I took brown yarn and did a blanket stitch around all four edges.  To add a little more brown to the fabric I did some machine stitching around some of the designs on the fabric.

With all the babies lately I needed to come up with more ideas for shower gifts and I came across this on pinterest. (tried to add a link, but apparently the link is missing, so tough tooties).... Burp clothes, and I guess they are the BEST EVER.  They are made from flannel and backed with fleece so that they don't slip.

BEST EVER burp clothes

And for the ending of this fabulous day I made something for myself!!  A strap cover for the camera, YYEAAHHH.  Link.. Again I vaguely followed the directions and pretty much winged it.  Jared said it was stupid but when he used my camera later on he was all about putting the lens cap in the little holder!

Camera strap cover
Handy pocket for lens cap!
Well that wraps up my crafting, I feel rejuvinated after all that sewing!!  Hopefully next weekend I get some more projects accomplished because Beth Frettim is all about get stuff done PINTEREST style.  Check out her blog if you want to see her DIY home remodeling projects.

Birthday Bash

Traveling again this weekend, we headed up north to Rockford for Dustin Howe's 30th birthday surprise party.  Hosted by his lovely wife Laura, it was definitely a surprise for him.  As always there were a few alcoholic's there that were stumbling around and talking to me with their rancid periodontal disease breaths...... ick...

The most drunk award does go to Brian Hobbs, thanks for your rendition of the "recliner" and falling into the garbage can where you sat for a while because you were unable to get out!  I know you are all wondering WTF is the recliner, well it is when you are leaning back so far that you stumble backwards a little to keep your balance.  Go ahead try it at home... now imagine being fit shaced while doing this, awesome I know.  If my dead beat sister would send me some pics I could give you better visual.

To add to the excitement of an amazing evening there was a DJ, Thunder and Lightning, and that they were.... They consisted of an older couple that wore mocassins and the guy rocked a handle bar mustache.  Dancing to their favorite songs and allowing the children to "beat him up" with balloons, were their favorite moments.  After making fun of these sweet DJ's for a while Brittney informed me that was her DJ for her upcoming wedding........... Jared's response was "Which one is Thunder and which one is Lightning?"   WOW!

So anyways... Happy Birthday Dustin, Howie, D-Train, enjoy being 30!!

Jason Aldean and Luke Bryan

This weekend we went to Cedar Falls to see the Jason Aldean and Luke Bryan concert with Brittney Wenzel, Alex Mortenson, the Schrage's and the Howe's.  Landon had a sleep over with his cousins at grandma and grandpa Lenehan's.

Our totally not amazing seats!!

The story of the night is probably don't start drinking at 2:30 and maybe eat a little more food throughout the day.  Also anytime with Doug Schrage ends in some type of outrageous moment.  Even though we are all in our late 20's, married w/ kids we still managed to get "Zombie Drunk".  Started the night with 8 and ended it with 7, but don't worry nobody died.......
Highlights:
1. We drove a mini van to Cedar Falls, in which Laura sat on a cooler the whole trip
2. Alex orders a shit load of food then leaves..... yeah we will pay for that no big deal
3. Another Alex issue is that he forgot his pin number so he didn't have any money for the whole night
4. We get to the concert, already drunk and the people around us are worried
5. Doug passes out at the concert
6. Nicole gets in an argument in the bathroom because she budged
7. We leave the concert and Doug and Nicole are missing because they got kicked out
8. We walk all over hell to get a ride back to the hotel, where we meet up with scary people from Brittney's work that I automatically assume are crack heads so Laura and I are to scared to ride with them
9.  We walk to the Hill and get subs where Laura yells at everybody who walks by that she will give them $100 if they take her to the hotel
10. Jared and I go to the bar where I take one shot and puke in my own hand......

The finale is that we all wake up to rehash the night before and we have giant bruises all over our legs from banging into the seats.

A GOOD TIME HAD BY ALL!!! except Doug

Hair Cut

Landon's hair is getting unruly!!  I cut it once a long time ago because all the newborn hair was a lot darker than the new blonde hairs but it was just a little bit.  The other night he got a major trim....  Here are some pictures highlighting that moment.

When you just can't find what you're looking for, just make it

So I had this awesome shirt all picked out for the Jason Aldean concert but I really wanted to do some layering with a vestlike over shirt.  Well I searched and searched I couldn't find what I was looking for, I wanted it to be either brown or ivory and have a pretty open back because the back of my shirt is studded and amazing.  So here is the process of making my shirt, Pinterest style!!

Found this ivory Mudd brand tank top at Kohls for $13.

Cut the front right up the middle to make it look more like a vest.  The back of the tank had a braided strap that connected the bottom half to the top half so I cut that off too so that more of the back of my shirt would show.

I then sewed some pleats onto the back to cinch it up a little bit and then made some cute little felt flowers to embellish it.

Ta Daaa!! Complete and ready for the concert!

Valentines Day!!

My boys met me at work and took me out to lunch for some yummy chicken and potatoes for lunch at B-Fab BBQ in Huxley..... DELICIOUS!!  When we got back to work Landon had a perfect little rose for me and a little note to his Mommy.  Love that little man!!

When I got home from work Mr. Landon had some mail, his first ever Valentine's Card, and it was from his great grandma Weiner.  He LOVED it!!  Here is a video clip of his ecstatic reaction : )

Jared made a delicious meal for dinner Rachel Ray style, I guess that's what I get for having a stay at home husband.

Sample Sunday

After a wonderful morning at church Landon and I traveled to Woodward to see Evelyn and her mommy for "Sample Sunday".  We started out at the Picket Fence Creamery where we sampled homemade flavored peanut butter, cookies, fried cheese curds that were made at the creamery, cheese spread, creamed honey, wine and of course Ice Cream, which Landon and Evie loved :).  They feature products from all over Iowa, it was great to see all the fun dips and breads from around the state.

Then we moved on into town to Flowers by Donna Jean, a local floral and antique shop.   Snus Hill Winery was there sampling their new wines and valentine cupcakes were being sampled also.  The Raspberry wine was delicious and tasted great with chocolate.  Landon and Evie played around a little bit on the floor, well, Evie played and Landon just kept crawling off...

Hey Landon.... I'm over here!!

Evie is obsessed with her tongue.

Hi cutie boy!

What size are your shoes, I want to try one on.
We went back to the Ulrich plantation where the kids continued to play and "talk" to each other for the afternoon.

Oh look, a telemarketer is calling....

Let me talk to him!!

More playing and sharing, Landon playing some london bridge with Evie

This is a nice sequence of Landon trying to crawl across Evie and it just makes her very upset...

Baby Teefers!!

Last month Landon cut his two lower incisors and we was a grumper the night that happened,

Now he is getting his maxillary incisors (yes, I will use those terms because I paid a lot of money to do so, so deal with it : )

I can see the edge coming down and he is running a fever again so the process begins again.... oh well the teeth are so cute.  And it is so funny to watch him try and chew things with his tiny little front teeth.

Landon's favorite guilty pleasure is PANCAKES......

How could you not love this little guy!!!

Introduction

Welcome to the Lenehan family blog!  I can't wait to share all of our fun activities with friends and family via the web, it will help us stay connected even though there are miles between us.

To start things off I will discuss this wonderful weekend we have planned.  Jared has been off work all week due to the weather and the ground freezing.  Being a stay at home dad has always been his "dream" but I do think he is doing a great job taking care of our little monkey while I'm busy bringing home the bacon!! Today is Friday, my day off so we are all home together and cleaning the house up before we begin our adventures.  The Des Moines home show link is going on downtown so we might check that out.  It always gets me in the remodeling mood, which I know Jared enjoys....

Our lovely Friday night consisted of going to our neighbor's, the Frettim's, and enjoying a dip in the hot tub while the boys watched some tv.  Knowing that I have weigh-in tomorrow at my class I decided to make up a little pinterest recipe for Skinny Beer-garitas!!!  MMMM they were delicious... click the link below to view recipe

Saturday is a lovely 5a.m. workout, Christy and I were the ones there so it was like a nice little personal training session.  There was a lot of gagging on my part but no throwing up : )  It is the half way point of our 8 week session so I got weighed and measured........ gained a pound.... real freakin awesome!!!!  But did manage to lose 16.5 inches combined everywhere.  So to celebrate I then gorging myself with the Slater Firemans Breakfast with my friend Christy.  I ate bacon like it was going out of style and it later put me into a food coma, TOTALLY WORTH IT!!!

Tonight is round 3 of mama's night out with Evelyn's mom (Megan).  We generally have roadies of some sorts on our way to a hole in the wall where we try to act like we don't notice anybody at the bar and feel socially awkward....... yep, we still got it!!!

Landon will be having a play date this weekend with his best gal friend, Evelyn.  I'll post some pictures after that, they haven't seen each other for almost a month so I'm sure it will be interesting
