Craft Central up in Here

Well....... I crafted again this weekend.  After nursing a severe hangover from Friday night, I got a late start on creativity.  Thank You Auntie Karen for baby sitting my baby boy while mom and dad got intoxicated!!  I'm leaving all details out of this one...

Saturday was to be CRAFT EXTRAVAGANZA.... due to the extreme nature of my hangover it was more like Beth did everything and I watched.  At one point Beth's husband had to saw my wine rack in half while Beth and I held each end.  The vibrations were so intense I wanted to hurl, and the fact that at any given moment I could loose an eye, terrified me!  End result is pure awesomeness!!

Booyah, way better than pinterest.  I later ripped these off the wall and painted them an off white color, now they look more amazing.  They were constructed out of an old pallet, like those used in shipping large items.

Let me share a couple more Saturday moments with you all.  Beth was feeling all crafty and junk so she was making a jewelry display out of leftover scrap pallet.  Well, she is drilling a hole for her screws to go into and it is just not working out so she says hell with that I'm just going to put a screw in it (we later found out she had it in reverse there for no hole :)  She puts the screw where she wants it and gets the drill out again and attempts to screw in the screw with the drill bit!!!!!!!  BBAAHHHHAAAA I look at her and say "Beth, are you serious right now?"  She has no clue what my issue is so I laugh at her intensely until she realizes that she is trying to use a drill to do that....... and I was the drunk one!!!  Finally all the screws are in and we knew from the get-go that the screws were all too long but hey we will deal with that later.  DONE... it looks awesome, she picks it up.. oh wait... she just screwed it to the piece of scrap carpet we were sitting on in the garage!!!  BBAAHHHAAAHAHA again!!  Had to unscrew everything to remove the carpet!!  Note to self---- we are awesome at everything, obviously!

Ok, so back to reality.  On Sunday I'm feeling better, still not 100% but trying to make myself useful.
I really want to get all the junk out of my kitchen so I inform Jared he will be helping me hang a repurposed boat rutter into a shelf for my collectibles.

Looks amazing right, I also whipped up this little window frame by breaking out the glass and adding chicken wire, all repurposed also.

Jared and I also hung the old glass piece I had gotten at a flea market.  We hung it from our bay window in the kitchen, the glass has this crackled look to it so I hope the sun catches it and does something cool.

Found this old chicken feeder in the garage that I had gotten from my Dad's farm, I saw in a store once that they had used one as a magnetic strip to hold photos.

I also whipped up a couple cool magnets with bottle tops and scrapbook paper.  The other ones are scrap booking brads that I had Jared cut the backs off of then I adhered a magnet.  Now isn't that cute!!

This piece is my favorite ever!!! I got it at an antique store and Jared finally hung it up last month.  LOVE!!

And I made a little more progress on my picture wall.  No, I don't know who the people are in the middle and Yes, I do know I have no photo in the one.  It's a frickin work in progress O.K.!!

I've been wanting to create this little work bench for Landon, I haven't found the right things to use yet but I decided to get started on making some of his tools.  Here is the adorable little saw I made tonight!!  Can't wait to see Landon try to saw body parts off with it. :)

Landon also likes real tools..... This is him "helping"

Bang Bang Bang with my little hammer
Oh I like this one much better

  1. Lol, well thank you for that re-cap. I always like reading about how I live up to my hair color... impressive stuff there, lady! I like the hanging glass and the shelf. Oh, and the metal thing with magnets on it is impressive as well. Basically, we are gonna make the best Xmas gifts in the world. ever.
